Jim Cannady – Senior Adult Pastor

22Jim Cannady grew up in Twin City (Emanuel County), GA where he graduated from ECI High School in 1962. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1962-1966. While serving in Charleston, SC in November of 1965, Jim surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ.

He married Sara Young from Chattanooga, TN in 1967 and they have 3 children; Tim, Kim, and Philip and they have 9 grandchildren. They moved to Griffin, GA in 1973.

In 1967 he joined Delta Airlines and was an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, retiring in December 2001 after 34 years of service. He came out of retirement after 1 year and went to work for Conner-Westbury for 3 years.

In 2005, 1 week after his 61st birthday, Jim was ordained to the Ministry and served as Pastor of Senior Adults and Missions for 7 years.  During his life as a follower of Jesus Christ, Jim has served as a deacon, teacher, disciple maker, director of a bus ministry, has led mission trips all over the world, and a witness for the Lord, and did it all for the glory of the Lord

Jim became Senior Adult Pastor at Oak Hill Baptist Church May 5, 2013. He is looking forward to a great time of ministry he as he works with Senior Adults
