Jim Cannady grew up in Twin City (Emanuel County), GA where he graduated from ECI High School in 1962. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1962-1966. While serving in Charleston, SC in November of 1965, Jim surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ.
He married Sara Young from Chattanooga, TN in 1967 and they have 3 children; Tim, Kim, and Philip and they have 9 grandchildren. They moved to Griffin, GA in 1973.
In 1967 he joined Delta Airlines and was an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, retiring in December 2001 after 34 years of service. He came out of retirement after 1 year and went to work for Conner-Westbury for 3 years.
Jim was ordained and licensed to preach the Gospel in February 2005 and has served as Senior Adult Pastor and Missions Pastor. Jim has served as a deacon, teacher, disciple maker, bus ministry director, and led mission trips all over the world. His desire is to finish well in serving the Lord.
Jim’s wife Sara passed away after an extended illness. They were married for 49 years. He married Sarah Gean Harbin October 1, 2016. She has 1 daughter, Heather, and 2 grandchildren. Gean has a heart for people and works along with Jim in serving the Senior Adults.
